PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
Allied Arts
Allied Arts of Chattanooga has supported
arts education at Wallace A. Smith Elementary for three years
with grant funding for an artist in residence. As a member of
the Allied Arts School Program, our school provided lessons from
professional visual artist Jas Milam for every classroom.
Parents support this initiative with a voluntary $5.00 art
supply fee to purchase the materials students use in class for
production. In order to maintain and expand future
opportunities for students our school has submitted a $6,000
grant proposal to the Tennessee Arts Commission and will apply
for continued participation in the Allied Arts School Program
for 2008-09.
