Betty's Room is a small room in the library
that contains sets of information
and fiction books at different
reading levels. The room was developed in
response to teacher
requests for classroom sets
of books to
use as additional reading
material.
Betty's Room is dedicated
to Betty Ramsey Cofer a
founding first
grade
teacher at Wallace A. Smith. When she passed away
from Alzheimer's her family requested that donations be given to the
Smith Library in lieu of flowers. This
sizable donation is the
foundation for the purchase of books for
the
room.
