Questions & Answers

Q: "What does SSAC stand for?"

The SSAC is the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council.

Q: "What is the SSAC?"

The Superintendent's Student Advisory Council was formed so that the schools would have direct representation to the Superintendent and the school board on the students' ideas for change among the school policies and agendas. The Council is composed of one representative from each school that chooses to participate, one alternate, and the school sponsor. Each month the Council meets with the Superintendent to discuss the topics on the agenda and engage in a Question & Answer session with Dr. Scales himself.

Q: "What does the SSAC participate in?"

Every year the SSAC tries to participate in the Student "SPEAK OUT", a forum for students to place their opinions on certain topics; organize the "Toys for Tots" toy drive in each school; and participate in the "SCOPE" forum held every year. New items are added almost every year as the SSAC members rotate.

Q: "How do I become an SSAC member?"

The members of the Council are chosen by the school's sponsor for being upstanding students with a high gpa and good character.
