
Students shall not use, possess, or transfer tobacco products in any form
on school premises. This shall
include use in cars, school buses and/or during any school sponsored activity
whether it occurs before, during or after school hours. To possess: shall mean to have tobacco products on the person, in
the vehicle or other areas in control of the individual, including one's
personal effects. To use:
shall mean holding of a lighted cigarette, cigar, or pipe, any inhaling of the
smoke of tobacco, or any chewing or dipping of any tobacco product. To "transfer" shall mean to give or pass contents of article from one
person to another.
School administrators
reserve the right to inspect lockers, automobiles, and personal effects on the
premises. Violations of this
tobacco policy shall subject the student to the penalties indicated under the
disciplinary guidelines on page 25. All
Hamilton County facilities are smoke free environments per Board Policy as of
7-1-94.
