Funds for Education Update- This is one of only two PTSA fund-raisers each year. We still need funds to provide software for the new mobile computer lab and a wireless printer. Also, we would like to purchase the student workbooks for the school’s Alive at 25 class that is offered through ROTC and Wellness. This is the only driver’s safety program at OHS and is not funded by HCDE. If we can prevent one accident, our efforts will be worthwhile. The books are $5 each and 600 students will be participating in the program. If you would like to contribute to Funds for Education, please make your tax deductible check payable to OHS PTSA and mail them to our attention at the school’s address – 6123 Mountain View Road, Ooltewah, Tennessee 37363.
Volunteer News – If you are interested in volunteering at the Teacher Supply Depot, please check their website at hcde.org/tsd. They have Saturday oppurtunities and are close to the downtown area. The Drama Department is also in need of people to do sewing at home and help build scenery. Please keep track of your volunteer hours, even if you work on a project at home. We need this information to total our hours at the end of the year. Contact Linda Lundy if you have any questions.

pta.org – The national web site for PTA. While anyone can visit this site, many areas are limited to “members only” and can be accessed by using the code found on your membership card.
ED.gov – Site of the U.S. Department of Education where you can obtain information on the “No Child Left Behind” legislation.
npin.org – National Parent Information Network. This site contains information about national education priorities.
