I have been teaching elementary music since 2003 and I've been at Ooltewah Elementary since 2009. I received my Bachelor of Science in Music Education from UTC in 2001 and received my Master of Music in Music Education from UTC in 2010. Over the course of my career, I have completed my Kodály Certificate, two levels of Suzuki Piano Teacher Training, and level one of Orff-Schulwerk, all 'best practice' methods of teaching music from other countries. I truly enjoy teaching music to children and believe that music is an integral part of their lives.

If you visit the music class, you will see that we are actively engaged in music activities such as: singing, playing instruments, preparing for programs, reading, writing, listening, and creatively moving. I believe that music is for everyone and find ways for each student to be successful in music.

My husband, Matthew, and I were married in October of 2010. We live in Chattanooga and enjoy hiking, music concerts, basketball, and being involved with our church.
