The coupon books are sold for $10 and the schools keep $7 per book. Each school decides how it will spend the money it raises. For example, one school may devote the funds towards the purchase of upgraded computers and software, while anothers may buy things like library books, art supplies, science lab equipment and instructional materials. The remaining 30% of coupon revenue covers program expenses and funds other school programs such as , Teaching Excellence Awards and the Superintendent’s Honors Banquet. This year, we anticipate selling 87,000 books and raising $870,000 for the Hamilton County schools.
