The Hamilton County Schools Fund for Excellence (FFE) was established in 1988 by former Superintendent Don Loftis to benefit the County's public schools. The Kids First Coupon Book has been the primary means of fundraising for the organization since its inception.  FFE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.  

A separate Board of Directors comprised of retired educators, community leaders, and business executives governs FFE. The Superintendent of Hamilton County Schools, the Chairman of the Hamilton County Board of Education, the President of the Hamilton County Council of PTAs, and the President of the Hamilton County Education Association serve as non-voting advisory members by virtue of his/her office.
