Target’s Take Charge of Education School Fundraising Program - Apison Elementary School just received a donation of $389.68 through the Take Charge of Education Program. Thanks to those of you who have contributed through this fundraising effort. Target donates up to 1% of purchases made using the REDcard to eligible K-12 schools designated by guests of Target. Thanks to the parents, teachers, and community members involved in this program. We appreciate your help.

Apison wins BIG! Four of Apison 5th grade students competed Thursday night in the 4-H Clover Bowl Competition, held among area schools.
Serena Lowry, Taylor Mahoney, Justin Ford, and Armando Ramirez won 1st place in the competition and will compete in Knoxville on May 15th. We wish them the best of luck. GUNG HO APISON!

Dress code concerns:
Please refer to page 15-16 regarding dress code.Teacher and staff discretion will be used for any dress which is felt to be distracting and/or inappropriate for the learning environment. Parents may be called and students asked to change in this event. Parents are expected to monitor the attire of their child before arrival to school. No clothing with obscene writing, encouraging alcoholic beverages, drugs, or violence, or other messages or pictures which might be distracting to the learning environment is permitted.

Our state mandated achievement test TCAP will be administered from April 14 – 18 in Grades 1 – 5. It is necessary for all students to be present for testing during this time. Please put these dates on your calendar now to avoid conflicts.

Accelerated Reader Book List 2007-08 Student and Parent Handbook
Dismissals: No child will be dismissed from the office after 3:15 PM. Regular dismissal procedures must be followed after that time. We encourage parents to allow their children to remain at school for the entire school day. Valuable lessons are missed when students leave early.
